Announcement
Hi! Thank you for visiting my little corner of the Etsy world! I create earthy, organic art on my farm in Middle Tennessee. Each rock that passes through my hands is transformed as I cut, shape, and polish it. All the while, imagining how the stone will become wearable art.
I am currently learning the art of working with precious metal clay and hope to integrate this art form into my designs soon.
If you are looking for high quality, vintage jewelry, please visit our new store https://classicrocknrose.etsy.com. We are currently stocking it and new pieces will be added daily.
It may sound cliché, but each piece is special to me and I always hope it finds its way to someone who loves it as much as I do.
Please visit my FB and IG pages to see new creations! Thanks for stopping by!

I was a school teacher for 25 years, then took some classes in metalsmithing and lapidary arts. Since then I have taught myself electroforming. I like to combine vinage pieces and things I find in nature to create one of a kind, nature inspired art.

Frequently asked questions
What is Electroforming?
I've received some questions about electroforming lately so I hope this helps explain:
1. What exactly is electroforming?
Electroforming is the process of building up copper deposits on any object. It's always fascinating to see what the copper ions do when they travel from one form to another. They can make little spheres, or textures as they form. Each piece is one of a kind.
What is the Electroforming process?
A. I seal the areas I want to protect. The solution is a strong acid that will eat away at organics or soft rocks.
B. Then I attach a bail and any other pieces, like wire or emellishments.
C. I paint the area with conductive paint so the copper ions know where to go when they are in the chemical solution.
D. I have an annode that is pure copper (+), and a cathode (-) which is the piece that will become copper. I attach them to wires that will carry the ions through through the solution using electricity.
E. After about 24 hours the piece is now formed in copper metal. 😃
IT'S ABSOLUTELY FASCINATING! The science nerd in me LOVES it!
Do you paint your jewelry to look like copper?
No, the item actually becomes enclosed in copper metal through a process that you can read in more detail in FAQ.
